About the role
The Senior Construction Manager – Industrial Boiler Construction role is a full-time opportunity with a leading industrial construction organization specializing in heavy industrial and power generation projects. This hands-on, builder-focused role is for an experienced construction leader who thrives in high-pressure, technically challenging environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead teams on industrial boiler projects, including erection, replacement, and outage work.
- Drive safety, quality, and schedule excellence.
- Mentor future leaders and shape project delivery and team capability.
Requirements
- 10–20+ years of construction experience in industrial or power generation environments.
- 5+ years in a Construction Manager, Superintendent, or equivalent field leadership role.
- Direct handson experience with industrial boiler construction (erection, replacement, or maintenance).
- Proven experience managing projects ranging from $10M–$100M+.
- Experience coordinating brownfield or operating plant construction and outages under compressed schedules.
- Strong technical knowledge of boiler erection sequencing, pressure-part installation, structural steel support, and heavy rigging.
- Experience with welding quality coordination, temporary systems (scaffolding, supports), and high-elevation/tight-clearance work.
- Expertise in work planning, labor loading, craft productivity, cost tracking, schedule development, and scope/change management.
- Deep safety leadership experience, including working at height, confined space entry, hot work, heavy lifts, rigging, and energy isolation/LOTO in operating plants.
- Prior experience leading union craft labor, subcontractors, and specialty trades.
- Demonstrated ability to develop superintendents, field engineers, and future field leaders.
- Strong client communication skills and experience presenting technical, schedule, and cost impacts professionally under pressure.
- Familiarity with industrial outage operations, engineering-driven construction cultures, and technically complex high-risk environments.
- Willingness to travel and work extended hours during critical project phases.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- OSHA 30 certification.
