Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Affiliate with the Construction Group to oversee capital projects throughout their entire lifecycle from initiation to closeout.
- Participate in project teams to develop project scope, cost estimates, and schedules.
- Attend site field and scope visits and assist in developing schedules, including critical paths.
- Create detailed construction plans and identify outage requirements for facility implementation.
- Identify required permits and develop detailed estimates.
- Prepare bid packages and review responses; participate in vendor selection.
- Conduct pre-bid meetings with contractors and monitor construction schedules and costs.
- Develop detailed construction plans, including outage lists, work dates, and resource requirements.
- Address safety hazards and environmental concerns during the construction phase.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements during construction and closeout phases.
- Oversee construction sites for contractors responsible for constructing and commissioning transmission substations and lines.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills And Abilities)
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent.
- Experience: More than five (5) years with less than ten (10) years’ experience in electric utility transmission & distribution, construction, manufacturing, or similar industries.
- Skills: Superior interpersonal, leadership, communication, organizational, and presentation skills; proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; advanced knowledge of MS Office suite of products (especially MS Word and MS Excel).
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry 20 pounds, sit for prolonged periods, communicate effectively, observe details, perform routine office duties, and travel.
