About the role

The Construction Manager II oversees all aspects of a construction project, including planning, organizing, and monitoring the progress of the team. Key responsibilities include leading and supervising construction workers and subcontractors, inspecting work in progress, enforcing safety protocols, and maintaining clear communication with clients and management.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Lead and supervise construction workers and subcontractors on site, assigning tasks and ensuring efficient workflow.
  • Inspect work in progress to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
  • Enforce safety protocols, conduct regular site inspections, and address safety concerns.
  • Maintain clear communication with clients, project managers, subcontractors, and construction crew.
  • Prepare and maintain project documents including reports, change orders, permits, and invoices.
  • Acts as liaison between Company, Field Personnel and Customers.
  • Acts as the company contact in the field with a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot/solve issues and coordinate with other trades/clients with minimal supervision.
  • Maintains job records for use in managing or control.
  • Complies with carrier specifications on all site construction by detailed coordination, review and approval of all documentation including but not limited to construction reports, grounding reports and as-builts.
  • Maintains permitting, inspections and code compliance as needed for each assigned project.
  • Reviews and compiles reports; such as inspection reports, tool, equipment and supply usage and safety reports.
  • Schedule crews, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure project completion.
  • Ensures crews and subcontractor fully execute and comply with the contracted scope of work.
  • Ensures crew members are in compliance with company and customer safety requirements.
  • Inspects all tools and rigging gear to ensure they are safe to use.
  • Reports any workers’ comp injuries or other incidents.
  • Maintains and reports daily activities to the construction manager and project manager.
  • Identifies and resolves issues that may arise during construction, including scheduling delays or quality concerns.
  • Manages the delivery and coordination of materials and equipment to the job site.
  • Provides status reports as requested to management.

Requirements

  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school; or 3 to 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Business Administration is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 plus years related experience.
  • Experience in wireless/telecom services is a significant plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel Access, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) programs.
  • Good communication skills, reading and writing skills (English).
  • Clean Driving Record & Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Must be able to accommodate out of town travel, if required.
  • Working knowledge of basic hand tools, mechanical equipment, and electro-mechanical equipment.
  • ComTrain, OSHA30, RF Awareness Training, First AID/CPR trained.
  • Experience with Anritsu Site Master, Andrew, PPC, tower mapping and antenna equipment.
  • Experience stacking self-support towers, installing waveguide, antennas and microwave dishes.
  • Retail awareness, replacement and maintenance i.e. coax, jumpers, TMA’s, connectors and weatherproofing.
  • Highly organized and able to effectively report verbally and written reports back to the Tower Construction Manager.
  • Experience in managing employees – hiring, terminating, completing performance reviews, allocating work, setting schedules, training, etc.

  • Skilled in courteous, professional written and oral communication.
  • Ability to complete work effectively with little or no direction.
  • Ability to communicate and interact with co-workers and various business contacts in a courteous, professional manner.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in operations methodology production objectives.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to make recommendations for action.
  • Knowledge of operations and practices.
  • Strong people skills - ability to interact with various levels of management.
  • Able to meet deadlines and satisfy needs with multiple and conflicting priorities.
