Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Affiliate with the Construction Group to manage capital projects throughout their entire lifecycle from initiation to closeout.
- Participate in project teams to develop project scope, cost estimate, and schedule.
- Attend site field and scope visits and assist in developing schedules, including critical paths.
- Create detailed construction plans and identify outage requirements for implementing new facilities.
- Identify required permits and develop detailed estimates.
- Collaborate with the Utility Company's major accounts group to manage outages affecting external and internal customers.
- Prepare bid packages and review responses, participating in vendor selection.
- Conduct design constructability reviews for all disciplines (site, foundation, electrical & relay, T-Line) to identify and eliminate costly expenses during the construction phase.
- Create detailed construction plans, including outage lists, work dates, and resource requirements.
- Identify and address all project safety hazards and environmental concerns.
- Maintain and report on the construction schedule and costs.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements during construction.
- Oversee construction sites managed by contractors responsible for constructing and commissioning transmission substations and transmission lines across the Utility Company System.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
- Graduate with a degree in Engineering or Construction Management; Requires more than one (1) year and less than five (5) years of experience in the Electric Utility Transmission & Distribution, Construction, Manufacturing, or similar industries.
- Superior interpersonal, leadership, communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
- Prioritizes effective verbal and written communication.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office suite of products, especially MS Word and MS Excel.
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
- Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, to communicate effectively.
- Sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodations, to conduct analyses and investigations.
- Sufficient manual dexterity with or without reasonable accommodations to perform routine office duties.
