Overview
An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Construction Manager to lead the field execution of major industrial EPC projects from mobilisation through commissioning and project close-out. This role is responsible for managing daily site operations, coordinating self-perform construction teams and subcontractors, maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality, and ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all on-site construction activities across structural steel, piping, mechanical systems, fabrication, and associated disciplines
- Manage daily field operations, workforce planning, crew scheduling, and resource allocation
- Ensure project milestones are achieved safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project schedules
- Promote and enforce health, safety, and environmental requirements across all site activities
- Monitor productivity, project costs, quality, and construction progress
- Identify and resolve field issues to minimise project delays and maintain performance targets
- Coordinate closely with project managers, engineering teams, procurement, estimators, subcontractors, and clients
- Oversee construction quality, inspections, testing, and compliance with project specifications
- Manage commissioning support, punch-list completion, and project close-out activities
- Prepare and communicate project progress reports, forecasts, and site updates
Requirements
- Minimum 7–10 years of construction management experience on industrial EPC, heavy industrial, or heavy civil construction projects
- Strong background managing self-perform construction activities including structural steel, mechanical, piping, and fabrication
- Proven experience leading large field teams and coordinating multiple subcontractors simultaneously
- Strong understanding of industrial construction methods, sequencing, and project execution
- Experience using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar scheduling software
- Experience managing project documentation, reporting, and construction records
- OSHA 30 certification or equivalent health and safety qualification
- Demonstrated commitment to safety leadership and incident prevention
- Excellent leadership, communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on field construction experience within industrial environments
- Experience delivering projects within power generation, oil and gas, manufacturing, or heavy industrial facilities
- Professional certifications such as Certified Cost Professional (CCP), Certified Professional Estimator (CPE), or membership with AACE International
- Experience leading projects from mobilisation through commissioning and final handover
