About the role

Davenergy Solutions is seeking an onsite full-time Construction Manager at the Bedford Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) in Bedford, MA. This position supports the Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) infrastructure upgrades across the Bedford VAMC and associated annexes and Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs).

Responsibilities

  • Implement a Quality Assurance plan with oversight over Quality, Safety, Cost, Change Management, and Information Management as per the Scope of Work.
  • Understand and manage the requirements of local state and federal jurisdictions, including those relevant to the project.
  • Master local building and other codes, permit requirements, materials, and construction methods.
  • Communicate effectively with project team members and the government regarding any violations or potential impacts.
  • Monitor construction for Quality Assurance (QA), prepare and review scope of work documents, submittals, schedules, and change proposals, and make recommendations based on their value.
  • Utilize software programs like P6 and PlanGrid to monitor and produce work products.
  • Proactively notify the government of any violations or potential issues.

Requirements

  • A working knowledge of construction practices and the ability to apply this knowledge.
  • Familiarity with site operations of General Contractors and Subcontractors, and the management of construction projects.
  • Communication, language, and software skills necessary to utilize various software programs for monitoring and producing work products.
  • Experience in monitoring construction for Quality Assurance (QA), preparing, analyzing, and identifying incongruities in contractors' work, and performing field QA monitoring.
  • Experience in developing or reviewing cost estimates, analyzing General Contractor (GC) pay applications, and advising the Owner on budget status and cost trends.
  • Ability to produce daily reports, weekly inspection summaries, and written analyses related to Request for Information (RFIs), submittals, schedule updates, and quality assurance surveillance.
  • Preferred healthcare construction experience; comparable institutional or federal experience is helpful.

Qualifications

  • A degree from an accredited institution of higher learning or equivalent work experience and knowledge.
  • A minimum of three years (3) years of construction work experience, which may be substituted for educational requirements.

  • Software proficiency in P6 and PlanGrid.
  • Effective communication and collaboration with project teams and the government.
