Polk Mechanical is a specialty mechanical sub‑contractor focused on pipefitting, plumbing, HVAC, sheet metal, and ductwork for commercial and industrial projects. The Polk Internship Program (Summer 2026) offers a paid, on‑site and in‑office experience that blends job‑site work, personal growth, and formal training, preparing interns for a career as an Assistant Mechanical Project Manager.

About the role

The internship is primarily based at Polk’s DFW Headquarters (2425 Dillard St., Grand Prairie, TX 75051) with limited openings in Houston and Austin. Interns will engage in hands‑on project work, participate in team‑building activities, and receive structured training and mentorship throughout the summer.

Program components

• Team Building Activities – outings to bond with teammates and fellow interns.
• On‑the‑Job Workbook – the i3 Workbook guides tasks, concepts, and qualities needed for successful Assistant Project Managers.
• Field Trips – job‑site visits, vendor tours, and industry events for real‑world exposure.
• Intern Roundtable Discussions – regular forums to share experiences and feedback with peers and program coordinators.
• Professional Development Sessions – formal training to build business acumen and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

• Currently a Junior or Senior in a degree program.
• Majors/Areas of Study: Construction Management/Science or related Engineering fields.
• Interest in Project Management, Estimating, Field Leadership, and VDC.
