Construction Management Intern - Summer 2027

Hourigan is a fully integrated construction management and development firm known for its successful projects and strong partnerships. This summer internship offers hands-on learning opportunities across various construction management areas.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Dive into project management tasks such as project finances, maintaining contract documents, issuing subcontracts, preparing submittal schedules, coordinating meetings, RFIs, change order requests, and more.
- Explore safety and quality control programs, conducting safety inspections and creating safety procedures.
- Learn field management by leading on-site activities and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Gain preconstruction experience by assisting with bid packages, evaluating subcontractor bids, reviewing proposals/specifications, drawings, and executing material takeoffs.
- Participate in virtual design & construction coordination and learn to create, edit, and run clash detection on three-dimensional BIM models using various applications like AutoCAD, Navisworks, Revit, and Archicad.
- Engage with the Hourigan Safety and Health Management System (SHMS), committing to safe work practices, raising concerns, attending and applying safety and health training, and eliminating hazards.
Qualifications And Experience
- Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrates genuine interest in the construction industry and a strong desire to learn and welcome new challenges.
- Able to work approximately 40 hours per week for a summer internship and independently, but also values teamwork and collaboration.
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and work in varying weather conditions, including heat and cold.
- Frequent physical activity includes standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching above shoulder level, pushing, and pulling.

This internship provides hands-on learning opportunities in field management, project management, preconstruction services, virtual design & construction coordination, and safety. The hourly range listed on this posting represents Hourigan's good faith estimate of the expected compensation for this position at the time of posting.
