Job Profile Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated individual who enjoys a dynamic, hands-on, field-based work environment. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for brownfield upstream well site construction projects and retrofits. The Construction Lead should have proven ability to project manage, participate in engineering design reviews, understand P&ID’s, walk down pending projects, select materials and build materials lists and track costs. They will be required to lead and supervise roustabout crews, safety system testing crews, crane operations, gas lift/wellhead compression commissioning, artificial lift installations and other general day-to-day field level operations activities. The Lead could have secondary responsibilities to construction maintenance activities both preventative and corrective. They will work with operations and facilities engineering teams to upgrade existing systems to improve reliability and to enhance production and HSE capabilities.

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform daily project management and oversight of brownfield roustabout construction crews
  • Project management by participating in design reviews, site walk downs, materials selection, cost tracking and project close out
  • Provide oversight of contractor work, ensuring compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Initiate improved construction practices to drive down project costs, downtime and increase safety
  • When necessary, perform corrective maintenance by trouble shooting, analysis, problem solving, critical thinking, diagnostic and reasoning ability

Essential Education And Qualifications

  • 10 years in upstream oil and gas construction / maintenance
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with P&ID’s and work management systems (SAP, Maximo, or similar)
  • Experience working with construction / maintenance roustabout crews
  • Proficiency constructing and installing mechanical equipment and automation/instrumentation systems on upstream oil and gas well facilities
  • Experience working with rotating equipment (pumps, gas driven and electric compressors, etc.…) on upstream oil and gas well facilities
  • Self-motivated individual who can deliver accurate, quality work with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Responsibilities

  • Provides day-to-day management of contractor work and operational priorities
  • Experienced with energy isolation, LOTO, critical safety systems while ensuring all construction work is carried out in a safe manner
  • Liaises with office and field-based engineers regarding project issues
  • Sure compliance of all essential operating procedures and practices for the construction discipline
  • Reports activities that could impact the safe operation of processes and/or systems, including potential process safety and operational optimization issues
  • Effectively follows all qualified unit and company rules, guidelines, and health, safety, security and environmental (HSSE) practices and procedures
