Construction Law Associate - Ft. Lauderdale, FL
About the role
Fox Rothschild has an opening in its new Ft. Lauderdale office (expected to open in August) for an associate to join its construction practice group within the Litigation Department.
Responsibilities
- Represent industry participants during all stages of a construction project, including owners, developers, associations, general contractors, trades, and architects, throughout Florida and the country.
- Provide training on all aspects of construction law, including transactional work such as contract drafting and deal negotiations, as well as dispute resolution services ranging from project consultation and pre-suit efforts, through litigation or arbitration.
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate (JD) required.
- Must be licensed to practice in the State of Florida.
- Experience drafting pleadings and motion practice at both the state and federal levels along with providing trial support is required.
- Long-term interest in business development and potential board certification in the area of construction law is highly desirable.
- Confidence in the courtroom and in independently handling matters and interacting directly with adversaries and clients or colleagues is required.
- Law firm experience preferred.
Qualifications
- Excellent academic credentials and strong research, writing, and communication skills.
- Strong background in legal research and writing, including drafting pleadings and motion practice at both the state and federal levels.
- Ability to handle complex legal issues and provide trial support.
- Interest in business development and potential board certification in construction law.
- Confidence in the courtroom and ability to interact directly with adversaries and clients or colleagues.
- Law firm experience preferred.
Skills
