About the Role

The Construction Laborer (Dirt Crew) is a vital member of our earthmoving and grading team. This role focuses on essential ground labor and site-preparation tasks, working alongside heavy equipment operators to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. If you have a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and a desire to grow within a premier, employee-owned company, this is the position for you.

Responsibilities

  • Perform vital hands-on labor on the jobsite, including potholing utilities, spreading rock, installing pipe, and general overall construction laboring.
  • Operate small hand-held equipment and tools necessary for the completion of grading and dirt operations.
  • Support heavy equipment operators by preparing the work area and assisting with ground-level coordination.
  • Drive various sized trucks to and from jobsites safely.
  • Ensure safety is prioritized in all aspects of work and follow all company safety protocols.
  • Report directly to your crew's foreman and execute assigned tasks efficiently.
  • Maintain strict punctuality to keep projects running on schedule.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, and teamwork on the jobsite.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license required; Class A CDL is a plus.
  • Relatively clean motor vehicle report. (Applicants with a drug or alcohol driving offense in the last three years will not be considered; other violations evaluated per insurance standards).
  • Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, stand for extended periods, and perform demanding physical labor under adverse weather conditions.
  • Ability to work 40–60 hours per week, including some Saturdays.

Qualifications

  • Strong work ethic with a genuine desire to succeed.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
