Core Job Responsibilities
- Directs development of an action plan and estimates requirements for resource management, labor, materials and time required to complete the project.
- Supports construction activities and interface between engineering and construction teams.
- Affirms vendors for competence, capabilities, resources, and financial status.
- Maintains progress of the project and compares actual costs and progress with estimates and budgets.
- Works with design groups to submit RFIs, resolve issues and modify plans as appropriate if problems arise.
- Collaborates with the design and construction teams.
- Aids in managing project issues, budgets, and schedules.
- Completes and reports on weekly progress by verifying work completed and analyzing data.
- Aids in monthly reports, detailing progress and costs for top management.
- Reviews and studies existing equipment, facilities, systems, and processes to improve efficiency, increase quality, and reduce costs.
- Develops PEP (Project Execution Plan), DBM (Design Basis Memorandum), JDB (Job Data Book), FEP (Field Erection Plan), SOW (Scope of work), and Split Matrix.
- Works closely with the project team and client to resolve problems.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management required.
- Minimum 3 years of field construction experience, preferably on downstream and/or mid-stream industrial projects.
- Excellent communications and organizational skills.
- Excellent analytical skills for reviewing costs and preparing budget reports.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and capable of establishing respect and credibility through actions, communications, understanding and personal presence.
- Ability to work with others to achieve job goals.
Physical Requirements
- Occasionally lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Sit for long periods of time.
- Occasionally stoop, kneel or crouch.
- Use hands and arms to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects.
Environment
- Working conditions encountered in this job include those found in a typical office setting as well as an indoor/outdoor industrial construction setting which includes exposure to outside weather conditions, work at elevated heights, climbing of stairs and ladders, and physical manipulation of tools and mechanical equipment.
- This job demands the use of typical industrial construction personal protective equipment as well as advanced protective equipment as needed.
