Responsibilities
- Inspects and monitors construction sites and the various work activities on these sites to verify adherence to standards, codes, and specifications.
- Prepares and submits daily reports documenting inspections and other relevant project information.
- Must adhere to all project contract documentation and testing of materials associated with inspections.
- Aids in the preparation of contract change orders, contract estimates, progress pay estimates, and other documents or reports required by the project.
- Verifies lines and grades of project improvements.
- Coordinates and performs field testing of materials associated with inspection as required.
- Implements quantity calculations for pay estimates.
- Performs analytical calculations such as basic earthwork, grading, profiles, and special staking procedures.
- Communicates verbally and in writing with contractor, owner, and project stakeholders as directed.
- Act as the on-site Administrator in the absence of the on-site Administrator.
- May direct and coordinate assigned staff as well as mentor’s technical expertise with others.
- Participate actively in Kleinfelder’s Safety Programs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years in the field or in trade-related training in a design, construction inspection, construction materials engineering/testing, or other construction related field.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
- Knowledge and experience with equipment used in construction inspection, and field testing of construction materials.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend and speak English fluently.
- Absence of attendance, punctuality and reliability issues.
- Able to work independently, make routine decisions concerning construction work progress.
- Current/valid State Driver's License REQUIRED with acceptable driving record.
- Able to pass a fingerprint/background check.
- Construction field materials testing certifications, i.e. Asphalt, concrete, workzone, pavement marking, environmental, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent to include courses in related work type.
