Construction Inspector III

About the role

Kleinfelder, a Forbes' Top Employer for Engineers in North America, is seeking an experienced Construction Inspector III for its Salt Lake City, UT office. The ideal candidate will contribute to the development and maintenance of America's infrastructure and supply chain while working with a recognized industry leader.

Responsibilities

• Follow proper procedures
• Complete work in a timely manner
• Prepare daily field observation reports and materials testing data sheets
• Perform accurate computations
• Maintain cordial relationships with coworkers, clients, contractors, etc.
• Help in laboratory testing of materials
• Train technicians and help grow the Houston Office
• Lead other junior technicians on long-term projects

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years in the field or in trade-related training in a design, construction inspection, construction materials engineering/testing, or other construction related field
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
• Knowledge and experience with equipment used in construction inspection, and field testing of construction materials
• Able to read, write, comprehend, and speak English fluently
• Able to work independently, make routine decisions concerning construction work progress
• Current/valid State Driver's License REQUIRED with acceptable driving record
• Able to pass a fingerprint/background check
• Construction field materials testing certifications, i.e. Asphalt, concrete, workzone, pavement marking, environmental, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent to include courses in related work type
• Following an offer, candidates will be required to satisfactorily complete employment reference checks, verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials, a motor vehicle report (MVR), and a comprehensive background check.
