What you’ll be able to do
We are seeking a Construction Inspection Area Manager to oversee field inspection operations across Western Pennsylvania, including the Pittsburgh region and surrounding counties. This is a full-time position supporting our Pennsylvania construction inspection services team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of construction inspectors and field staff
- Cook up and manage daily field inspection activities across multiple project sites
- Ensure all construction work complies with contract documents, plans, specifications, and applicable codes
- Monitor contractor performance, schedules, and quality of work
- Review and approve daily inspection reports, field documentation, and quantity tracking
- Serve as the primary field contact for clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies
- Identify and resolve field issues proactively to minimize project delays and cost overruns
- Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies
- Conduct site visits, audits, and quality assurance checks
- Aid in project planning, budgeting, and resource allocation
- Prepare progress reports and communicate project status to senior management
The minimum requirements we seek
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 7+ years of construction inspection experience, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of PennDOT standards, specifications, and procedures
- Experience managing highway, bridge, or infrastructure projects
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and technical documents
- Proficiency in construction management software and reporting tools
- A valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout Western Pennsylvania
