About the role
Sineath Construction is expanding and seeks a seasoned Area Construction Manager to oversee multiple active job sites. This role involves leading up to four Field Managers, ensuring projects are completed efficiently, maintaining high quality, adhering to schedules, and providing excellent customer support.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage 3-4 Field Managers, focusing on coaching, performance accountability, and talent development.
- Ensure all projects have baseline schedules, are properly launched, and adhere to company standards.
- Provide clear 60-day completion projections to both internal teams and clients.
- Drive quality control, safety standards, and customer satisfaction across all assigned projects.
- Partner with Purchasing, Estimating, and Design for strong pre-construction handoffs and smooth project starts.
- Lead warranty resolution with urgency and professionalism.
- Handle conflict resolution and client escalations with tact, urgency, and emotional intelligence.
- Inspect job sites regularly to verify schedule accuracy, trade partner performance, and workmanship standards.
Leadership & Culture Expectations
- Maintain a company-first perspective, operating above the project level with a focus on results and team development.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate Field Managers, addressing performance gaps early and professionally.
- Encourage ongoing professional development, including GC licenses, technical training, and continuing education.
- Anticipate problems before they arise, building plans rather than reacting to issues.
- Hold the bar high, be visible, set the tone, and model accountability, communication, and problem-solving.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership presence, setting clear expectations and following through.
- Excellent communicator, comfortable delivering both updates and accountability conversations.
- Strategic forecaster, always working 30-90 days out with a focus on margin and schedule.
- Strong business acumen, understanding the impact of production on financial performance.
- Organized and process-driven, operating with systems rather than intuition.
- Skilled in client communication, expectation-setting, and maintaining trust during tough conversations.
Work Structure & Expectations
- Reports to Operations Leadership / Ownership.
- Mix of field presence, jobsite inspections, and strategic office planning.
- Full-time salaried position with schedule autonomy tied to results and visibility.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, or equivalent experience.
- At least 10 years of experience in residential or commercial construction operations.
- Proven leadership of multiple Superintendents or Project Managers.
- Experience hiring, developing, and managing trade partners, vendors, and internal staff.
- High integrity, steady under pressure, and confident in making field-level decisions.
