Construction Equipment Technician - The CAT Rental Store

Do you like to solve technical problems? Are you effective at troubleshooting? If so, we have a challenging opportunity in our Tukwila, WA branch. This is a key role in our company.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair Caterpillar, Allied, and Genie or aerial equipment including removing, repairing, assembling, and installing.
• Troubleshoot engines, powertrains, electrical, and hydraulic systems; experience with CAT diagnostic equipment, CAT repair tooling, rigging, and blocking equipment is essential.
• Plan and organize multiple projects with a focus on controlling job costs.
• Investigate, analyze, and identify problems to make recommendations that eliminate issues.
• Communicate effectively with a variety of people using strong interpersonal skills and accurate writing for internal software, work/service orders, and other programs.

Requirements

• High school degree (or equivalent) plus graduation from a 2-4 year vocational technical school or equivalent experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Potential operation of forklifts and equipment such as hydraulic and mechanical presses, hoists, cranes, and pressure washers.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook).
• Ability to stand up to eight hours per day and perform physical tasks including twisting, bending, squatting, sitting, stooping, and kneeling.
• Flexibility to work in the shop or field to assist customers.
• Experience working at a Caterpillar (CAT) dealership or with CAT products is ideal.
