CONSTRUCTION Data Center Project Manager – MEP (Mechanical & Electrical & Plumbing)

Job Summary (List Format) Role: Construction Data Center Project Manager MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) Duration: 12+ months Location: Somerset, NJ (Hybrid minimum 4 days/week at various NY/NJ sites) Experience Required: 5-10+ years managing MEP or mission critical construction projects At least 1 experience with data center build out or refresh No financial company experience required Education: Bachelor s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related technical field preferred Work Environment: On-site at various data center construction sites in NJ/NY; suitable for experienced professionals, including older candidates Key Responsibilities Lead and manage end-to-end delivery of mechanical, electrical, and technology infrastructure projects within enterprise data centers Oversee all phases of project lifecycle: scope definition, design coordination, vendor oversight, and commissioning support Manage project budgets, schedules, risk registers, and status reporting Execute procurement activities (RFPs, bid evaluations, vendor negotiations) Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, vendors, and service providers Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC, UPS, generators, PDUs, controls, fire/life safety systems, and other MEP equipment Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards, and support for SLA/KPI commitments Maintain project documentation, change management, and regular status meetings Assist with sustainability and certification goals (LEED, WELL, WiredScore, SmartScore) Ensure smooth handover of completed projects to data center operations teams Required Skills & Qualifications Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and critical facility systems (HVAC, UPS, generators, PDUs, controls) Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage vendors Experience managing large-scale construction project budgets Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills Ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic construction environments while maintaining safety and compliance standards Other Notes No financial industry experience required Not focused on telecom or software development strictly MEP construction management
