Construction Coordinator - Route Based

About the role

In this route-based role, you’ll serve as the eyes and ears on the ground for our clients’ fiber networks. You’ll drive an assigned route daily, monitor existing fiber infrastructure, and address minor issues before they escalate. This position is ideal for someone who prefers working outdoors, driving, and solving problems in the field rather than at a desk.

Responsibilities

• Receive daily assignments and plan your route.
• Drive an assigned fiber route on a recurring basis, with substantial daily windshield time.
• Monitor existing fiber routes for potential risks to the infrastructure.
• Review and reference 811 locate tickets, maps, and prints to stay ahead of nearby digging and construction activity.
• Provide first-level support for minor issues and mitigate potential failure points.
• Log and escalate changes in infrastructure or conditions along the route.
• Verify the quality, accuracy, and adherence of work performed under the scope of work (SOW).
• Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Reliable, well-maintained personal vehicle in clean, professional condition (mileage reimbursed at the current IRS-approved standard rate).
• Dependability—ability to show up on time and complete tasks consistently.
• Sharp attention to detail, especially when reviewing tickets, maps, and prints.
• Comfort working independently in the field with minimal supervision.
• Willingness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Physical readiness to walk extensively, bend, sit, stand, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the day.
• Solid computer proficiency, including Microsoft tools for reporting and communication.
• Working knowledge of underground utilities and local dig laws (a plus).
• Strong understanding of fiber engineering fundamentals.
• Customer service instincts to interpret, communicate, and deliver on client needs.
• Sharp organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adjust delivery for different audiences.
• A "rain-or-shine" mindset—work continues regardless of weather.

Pay

$30–$35/hour, plus the opportunity to earn an annual bonus.
