Construction Coordinator - Route Based

Our services include back office processing, technical support, network infrastructure, engineering & design, project and program management, and outside plant damage cost recovery.

About the role

In this role, you'll serve as the eyes and ears on the ground for our clients' fiber networks. You will run an assigned route, monitor conditions, and address small issues before they escalate. This is a route-based position with substantial daily driving, ideal for someone who prefers working outdoors and solving problems in the field.

Responsibilities

• Receive daily assignments and plan your route.
• Drive an assigned fiber route on a recurring basis, monitoring for risks to the line.
• Review and reference 811 locate tickets, maps, and prints to stay ahead of nearby digging and construction activity.
• Provide first-level support for minor issues and mitigate potential failure points.
• Log and escalate changes in infrastructure or conditions along the route.
• Verify the quality, accuracy, and adherence of work performed under our scope of work (SOW).
• Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Reliable, well-maintained personal vehicle in clean, professional condition (mileage reimbursed at the current IRS-approved standard mileage rate).
• Dependability—consistent punctuality and accountability for completing tasks.
• Sharp attention to detail, especially when reviewing tickets, maps, and prints.
• Comfort working independently in the field with minimal supervision.
• Willingness and ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Physical readiness to walk extensively, bend, sit, stand, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the day.
• Solid computer proficiency, including Microsoft tools for reporting and communication.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of underground utilities and local dig laws is a plus.
• Strong understanding of fiber engineering fundamentals.
• Customer service instincts to interpret, communicate, and deliver on client needs.
• Sharp organizational skills and the ability to prioritize across multiple assignments.
• Clear communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to adjust delivery to your audience.
• A "rain-or-shine" mindset—commitment to working regardless of weather conditions.

Pay

$28–$34/hour, plus the opportunity to earn an annual bonus.
