Construction Controller - Residential

We are a Salt Lake–based construction firm specializing in high-end luxury residential construction and remodels across Salt Lake City and the Wasatch Back. Our projects range from ground-up estates to complex remodels, working closely with top designers, architects, and subcontractors in the region.

• This Controller position is office-based in the Millcreek area.

Job Details

We’re hiring a Controller to support the financial operations of a growing luxury residential construction company focused on high-end homes and remodels in Salt Lake City and the Wasatch Back. This is a key role on a smaller, collaborative team where you’ll have visibility into all aspects of the business and play a hands-on role in managing the company’s financial health.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting functions including AP/AR, payroll, and job costing
• Manage financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow
• Maintain accurate job cost tracking and project financials
• Work closely with ownership on forecasting and financial strategy
• Ensure systems and processes are efficient and scalable
• Manage and optimize use of Buildertrend and QuickBooks

Qualifications

• Construction accounting experience (custom residential preferred)
• Strong understanding of job costing and project-based accounting
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Buildertrend (or similar software)
• Able to work in a small team environment and wear multiple hats
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and ability to partner with operations teams
