Our Lamar office in Collinsville, Missouri is hiring a new Operations crew member to install and maintain billboards, including advertisements, structures, and cosmetics in Hannibal/Collinsville, MO and surrounding areas. This action-packed role works as part of an installation crew and provides all training and equipment to start your career in outdoor advertising.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain billboards, including removing and hanging flexes and vinyls, cutting and preparing materials, and installing copy on Tri-Visions
  • Maintain structures through repairs such as tightening bolts, painting steel structures, repairing trim and sign faces, changing light bulbs, and assembling structures
  • Build and install extensions, cut brush/weeds, conduct storm damage repairs, and perform minor electrical repairs
  • Sweep and clean workshop area
  • Use power/manual tools while adhering to all safety regulations
  • Attend safety meetings as required
  • Maintain operation vehicles, tools, equipment, and machinery
  • Take completion photos for proof of performance
  • Document installations through photographs and written logs

Requirements

  • Good communication skills and ability to speak and read English fluently
  • Willingness to work and get along well with others
  • Basic computer skills including Internet navigation and Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Ability to comply with Lamar safety standards while performing work
  • Ability to work from ladders and carry tools to the worksite from vehicle
  • Working knowledge of electrical skills and techniques
  • Working knowledge of fabrication skills and techniques
  • Skill in reading technical documents, such as blueprints and diagrams
  • General knowledge of Lamar, Department of Transportation (DOT), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety regulations
  • Ability to safely use construction equipment for outdoor structures
  • Ability to climb heights and work at heights above ground safely
  • Skill in practical applications of mathematics for construction and operations tasks
  • Skill in setting priorities that reflect job responsibilities

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Valid driver’s license (required)
  • Ability to complete OSHA 10-hour Construction course (required)
  • Preferred certifications: CDL/Non-CDL, Crane, Signal, Rigging, or LDD
  • Previous experience working at heights up to 200 ft. above ground (preferred)

A day in the life

This position primarily involves installing and maintaining billboards, performing structural repairs, and ensuring upkeep of billboard cosmetics. Tasks include heavy lifting, working at heights, and operating power/manual tools in outdoor environments, often in adverse weather conditions.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Outdoor work environment with exposure to adverse weather conditions
  • Ability to climb to heights up to 200 ft.
  • Heavy lifting (up to 100 pounds), extensive bending, pushing, reaching, and stooping
  • Sitting less than 50% of the time; standing, walking, driving, and climbing regularly
  • Nights spent away from home traveling are less than 10%
  • On-call shifts may be required

Pay

An hourly rate of $23 per hour.

Schedule

Monday–Thursday, 7:00 am – 5:30 pm.
