About the role

This entry-level, full-time position is based in Lamar’s Lamar office in Allentown, Pennsylvania. The purpose is to install and maintain billboards—including advertisement installation, structural maintenance, and cosmetic upkeep—across Allentown, PA and surrounding areas. The role typically works alone and requires independent schedule management.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain billboards, including hanging and removing flexes and vinyls, cutting and preparing materials, and installing copies on Tri-Visions
  • Build and install extensions on billboards; cut brush/weeds; conduct storm damage repairs and minor electrical repairs
  • Maintain a clean workshop area and keep operation vehicles, tools, equipment, and machinery in working order
  • Take completion photos and maintain written logs to document installations
  • Attend installer and construction safety meetings as required
  • Use power/manual tools while adhering to safety regulations

Requirements

  • Ability to work alone and manage your own work schedule effectively
  • Willingness to work at heights up to 100 feet above ground
  • Strong communication skills; ability to speak and read English fluently
  • Basic computer skills, including Internet navigation and Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Ability to work from ladders and carry ladders and/or tools to worksites
  • Working knowledge of electrical and fabrication techniques
  • Skill in reading technical documents such as blueprints and diagrams
  • General knowledge of Lamar, DOT, and OSHA safety regulations
  • Ability to safely use construction equipment and climb heights above ground
  • Skill in setting priorities that reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations relevant to construction and operations tasks

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to complete OSHA 10-hour Construction course required
  • CDL and Non-CDL licenses are a plus, but not required
  • Previous experience working at heights up to 200 ft. above ground preferred
  • Construction and/or billboard installation experience is a plus, but not required

Pay

Hourly range: $20 – $22, dependent on relevant experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The primary work environment is outdoors, requiring the ability to work in adverse weather conditions and climb to heights up to 200 ft. Heavy lifting (up to 100 lbs), extensive bending, pushing, reaching, and prolonged standing are routine. Sight requirements include reading, color distinction, acuity, depth perception, and peripheral vision. Nights away from home are less than 10%; on-call shifts may be required.
