Responsibilities
- Review, draft, and negotiate a broad range of public works and construction-related agreements, including professional services agreements
- Provide legal guidance regarding public procurement processes
- Aid clients with construction-related disputes and claims
- Research and analyze legal issues affecting construction and public contracting matters
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and clients
- Learn and become proficient in various construction delivery methods
Qualifications
- Contract negotiation experience, including drafting and reviewing a variety of types of contracts
- Experience with and/or a willingness to learn public procurement processes
- Excellent analytical, writing, research, and communication skills
- Flexibility, initiative, and willingness to learn the nuances of a broad range of construction processes and agreements, and related matters arising in representing public entities
- Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks, with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Approaches new challenges and navigates obstacles with a solution-oriented mindset
- Anticipates needs and takes appropriate action to move work forward
- Ability to apply legal research skills and critical thinking to assigned work
- Demonstrated success working as a team player in a fast-paced environment, as well as the ability to work independently
- Litigation experience or willingness to work on litigation matters is a plus
- Admission to the California State Bar
Pay
The annual salary range the Firm reasonably expects to pay candidates for this position is $120,000 to $175,000. The final annual salary offered will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
