Position Summary
Worley is seeking an experienced Construction & Commissioning Manager to lead our regional construction operations and deliver a portfolio of projects across the Alaska region. In this dual focus leadership role, you will provide direct oversight for multiple concurrent projects and hold functional responsibility for standardizing construction and commissioning workflows across the region. You will also support business development activities and senior customer engagement.
Purpose of the Role
You will be responsible for the safe, timely, and effective preparation and execution of all the construction scope within the portfolio, ensuring full compliance with HSEQ targets, procedures, and standards, and scaling the regional team and supporting infrastructure to accommodate new work. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing regional construction and commissioning processes, "lessons learned" databases, and standardized safety protocols to be used across all Alaska projects and driving the integration of Worley procedures and tools across the business unit. This position will also directly support major project activity in the region, which will involve collaboration with delivery team from across North America, and effectively leveraging the regional construction organization as major project construction efforts initiate.
Core Responsibilities
- Providing technical oversight for a portfolio of projects ensuring they stay on schedule and within budget.
- Collaborating with project teams to identify and deliver through application of construction best-practices.
- Identifying potential engineering hazards and implementing appropriate risk mitigation measures.
- Providing input to project schedules as required and reviewing contractor schedules for accuracy and feasibility.
- Ensuring execution plan readiness and proactively identifying and mitigating execution risks.
- Leading audits and reviews of construction processes, ensuring recommendations are implemented and best practices adopted.
- Interfacing with project management and client representatives on all construction-related matters, proactively escalating risks and issues.
- Ensuring construction processes and procedures are fit for purpose and robust. Including the management of all deployed resources.
- Managing a rotating pool of trade leadership specialists and subcontractors, ensuring the right talent is deployed across multiple project sites based on priority.
- A heavy emphasis will be placed on development of lower tier leadership positions and support functions.
- Demonstrating visible and proactive safety leadership, setting expectations through personal example and clear communication with all teams.
- Supporting incident investigations and safety audits across all regional project sites.
- Assessing site working conditions and environments to ensure safe and effective operations.
- Promoting and ensuring compliance with environmental responsibilities and standards.

Key qualifications and capabilities
- A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent field experience
- 10+ years of construction experience supporting large-scale infrastructure, energy, or resource development projects
- Experience of EPC/EPCm project delivery
- Experience working in remote logistically constrained environments
- Strong communications skills and the ability to effectively, and productively, engage with team members, clients and contractors
- Experience with modular/skid-mounted construction (built out-of-state and shipped to AK)
- Proven ability to lead field teams in remote work environments while maintaining strong safety performance
- Strong coordination skills with engineering, logistics, environmental, and project controls teams
- Applying analytical and logical thinking to resolve complex construction and project challenges to maintain schedule and safety performance
- A deep level of understanding of project controls functions as they pertain to execution of construction projects is considered a strong preference
- Willingness to travel to remote sites and work in extreme weather conditions (-40°F)
