Construction Advisory - Assoc. Director

About the role

We are seeking an Associate Director to join the Construction Advisory & Disputes Team, specializing in construction claims and dispute resolution. This role involves leading forensic delay analysis, contributing to expert reports, and providing consultancy services on substantial and complex disputes in delay-related matters. The successful candidate will primarily assist Delay Expert(s), manage client relations, and deliver results under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead forensic delay analysis and contribute to the preparation of expert reports.
• Perform construction dispute resolution, claims preparation and analysis, and delay/disruption analysis.
• Provide programming support on live projects, including critical path scheduling analysis.
• Prepare and present findings to clients, demonstrating strong communication skills.
• Conduct advanced data research and manage client relations.
• Assist in promoting construction advisory services within the industry.
• Work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams to deliver client commissions.
• Review and analyze contracts, change orders, cost damages, drawings, specifications, and other construction-related documents.

Requirements

• More than 10 years of experience in forensic delay analysis within the construction and engineering industry.
• A recognized undergraduate degree in construction management, engineering, quantity surveying, or a related field from a leading university.
• Proficiency in programming software such as Primavera 6 and Microsoft Project.
• Chartered professional status or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of on-site construction experience with engineering, construction, or construction claim/dispute firms.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and build strong client relationships.
• Strong technical foundation in project planning and an understanding of project-based work demands.
• Flexibility, professionalism, and a sense of personal responsibility for work quality.
• Ability to travel for assignments and work under pressure to meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• A postgraduate qualification in construction law or a similar field (desirable but not essential).
• Fluency in English; command of a second language is desirable.

Pay

A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $125,000 - $150,000, based on factors such as skillset, experience, training, location, and scope of role.
