Construction Account Manager
About the role
Crescent Electric is seeking a Construction Account Manager to join our dynamic team. This role involves creating and maintaining strong business relationships with construction customers and suppliers, as well as selling products and services to meet their needs.
Responsibilities
- Create and update business plans for assigned accounts in Crescent’s CRM tool.
- Develop and sustain sales and profit volumes in assigned territories.
- Make in-person sales calls to prospective customers and current customer establishments.
- Introduce and demonstrate new products to industrial customers.
- Pricing bills of material for industrial customers.
- Sell products and services using a conservative approach, offering add-ons and upsells as necessary.
- Cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with construction customers and suppliers.
- Assist and resolve customer requests and issues promptly and professionally.
- Communicate competitive conditions, customer financial weaknesses, and customer feedback to management.
- Cooperate with suppliers to secure mutual business through joint sales calls.
- Execute sales efforts ethically and professionally, reflecting positively on both the individual and the company.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 4 years of related experience and/or training in the wholesale electrical distribution industry, and previous construction sales experience.
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel up to 25% of the time, including overnight stays.
- Comprehensive computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Product knowledge and ability to work quickly and accurately under time constraints.
- Interpersonal and organizational skills, self-starter attitude, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities (verbal and written).
Physical Demands
- Often standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing, and stooping.
- Occasional sitting, talking, hearing, reaching, twisting, bending, or kneeling.
- Use of hands/fingers often needed.
- Continuous lifting and carrying 1-20 lbs.
- Frequent lifting and carrying 21-50 lbs.
- Occasional lifting and carrying 51-100 lbs.
- Use of technology (phone, computer, printer, keyboard).
- Assistance of a buddy-lift or a mechanical device advised for occasional lifting and carrying.
- Continuous close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
