About the role

We are seeking a Junior Financial Controller to join our head office team in Port Gentil, Gabon. This role supports the financial operations of PETROGAS GABON S.A., ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and financial control in a dynamic offshore and onshore energy environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with local and international accounting standards.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to ensure financial targets are met.
• Monitor cash flow, manage bank reconciliations, and ensure timely processing of payments and receipts.
• Collaborate with operational teams to track project costs, analyze expenditures, and provide financial insights.
• Maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in tax filings, audits, and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Contribute to process improvements in financial reporting and internal controls.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in financial accounting or controlling, preferably in the oil & gas or energy sector.
• Familiarity with IFRS and local Gabonese accounting regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under deadlines.
• Fluency in French is required; proficiency in English is an advantage.
• Willingness to work in Port Gentil, Gabon, with occasional travel as needed.
