Constructability Detailer (32439)

Key Responsibilities

  • Review electrical construction drawings, specifications, and models to ensure constructability and completeness.
  • Develop detailed installation drawings, layouts, and constructability details for field use.
  • Identify constructability issues, conflicts, or inefficiencies and work with project teams to resolve them.
  • Cookordination with BIM/VDC teams to ensure models reflect installation requirements and field conditions.
  • Support the development of detailed plans for conduit routing, equipment installation, cable pathways, supports, and electrical room layouts.
  • Ensure installation details comply with project specifications, electrical codes, and company standards.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Foremen to incorporate field input into detailing and constructability solutions.
  • Participate in coordination meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders as needed.
  • Aid in identifying opportunities to improve installation efficiency, reduce labor impacts, and mitigate project risks.
  • Support field teams by responding to constructability questions and providing clarification on installation details.
  • Maintain organized documentation and revision control of drawings and constructability deliverables.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective completion of projects.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Drafting, or related field preferred; equivalent field experience considered.
  • 1-3 years of experience in electrical construction, detailing, BIM/VDC, or field operations.
  • Experience supporting data center, mission critical, or large commercial/industrial electrical projects preferred.
  • Field experience as an electrician or field engineer is a strong plus.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of electrical construction methods, installation sequencing, and best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, specifications, and coordination models.
  • Proficiency with detailing and modeling software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential constructability issues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with field teams, engineers, and project managers.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of NEC requirements and electrical installation standards.
