Responsibilities
- Generate leads
- Build and expand networks continuously and establish connections to generate referrals for death and funeral arrangements using company tools, processes, and standards.
- Be responsible for a minimum of four hours of prospecting each day (eight-hour workday): approach families at events, do door-to-door visits, or assist in group seminars.
- Obtain referrals from families served by the locations by ensuring follow-up visits to families after the service.
- Build and maintain community and civic relationships.
- Explain and present the Personal Planning Network Dignity to families served and referred.
- Maintain and track activity levels to ensure productivity.
- Establish and maintain solid business relationships with families: build a connection with the family, resolve raised issues, and meet expressed needs, follow up.
- Respond to client inquiries promptly, respectfully, sensitively, and professionally.
- Support families during bereavement through acts of kindness.
- Establish relationships with families through listening, honest communication, and genuine concern.
- Develop an understanding of each family's unique needs and offer solutions that add value to them.
- Stay in touch with families to ensure satisfaction.
- Prepare for all appointments and perform all procedures with professionalism and attention to detail.
- Provide service beyond expectations to ensure satisfaction and lay the foundation for future sales based on long-term relationships.
- Build trust-based relationships to earn the right to ask for referrals.
- Earn the right to gain referrals to protect family members, friends, and relatives by clearly demonstrating the benefits of planning arrangements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One to two years of college or an equivalent of education and experience
- One to two years of customer service or sales industry experience preferred
Qualifications
- Able to pass the Company’s internal presentation certification within thirty days of hire
- Able to work a number of evenings and/or weekends every month
- Able to drive frequently
- Able to obtain and maintain an insurance license if required by state/province law and as prescribed by each state board
- Flexible hours but, at times, must have the ability to work up to 12 hours in a day
- Able to treat others with empathy and respect
- Knowledge of computers and some software
- Customer service skills
Pay
The estimated total target for this position in the first year typically ranges from $40,000 to $100,000 annually, considering a strong commission-based incentive structure and base pay. In subsequent years, sales professionals commonly earn $100,000 to $150,000 or more annually. Actual compensation will vary based on individual performance, geographic location, and applicable business conditions. (Note: The position includes an hourly rate of 16.60$ as part of the total compensation structure.)
