Congregate Residential Counselor- Relief

About the role

The Home for Little Wanderers, Children's Collaborative, located in Roxbury Crossing, is seeking a Per Diem Residential Counselor to support youth who have experienced trauma and significant emotional and behavioral challenges.

Responsibilities

• Join a dynamic team implementing a trauma-informed care model.
• Support youth in developing essential life skills, coping mechanisms, and social skills through various techniques.
• Engage in group and activity-based programs to foster youth growth and development.
• Maintain a safe and supportive environment for the youth.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience working with youth, especially in similar settings, is preferred.

What to Expect in the Role

• Pass the DEEC CORI/DCF background check and have a valid ID.
• Be prepared to be physically active for an 8-10 hour shift.
• Participate in verbal de-escalation and physical intervention with youth.
• Multi-task in a fast-paced treatment environment.
• Receive and implement feedback in the moment and through structured supervision.
• Work evenings, holidays, and weekends as required.
