About the role

We are seeking a Residential Counselor (Relief) to join our dynamic team, bringing an energetic and positive approach while working with the youth we serve. Cohannet Academy is an Intensive Residential Treatment Program for adolescents specializing in trauma-informed care, providing 24-hour comprehensive support including an on-site school, full clinical and nursing staff, and direct care staff.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and facilitate enriching daily activities for youth, such as arts and crafts, recreational activities, and offsite field trips.
  • Create a safe and therapeutic community by supporting youth in developing and role-modeling effective coping strategies.
  • Help youth discover their strengths and build life skills, including cooking, banking, and vocational skills.
  • Support youth in developing a sense of self and the skills needed for success in their next steps.
  • Provide physical interventions and verbal de-escalations to maintain a safe therapeutic environment.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • COVID-19 vaccination required.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license, as transporting youth is required.
  • Available to work evenings, holidays, and weekend shifts as required.
  • Background and driving record checks will be performed.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $19.00 to $25.00 per hour. The listed range reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, licensure, certifications, and qualifications. Overtime may be mandated due to the nature of our work.
