About the role
The Conflicts Researcher plays a crucial role in ensuring that the firm maintains ethical standards by identifying potential conflicts of interest. This position is integral to the firm's intake and lateral hiring processes.
Responsibilities
- Performs quality control reviews of client/matter intake, ensuring accuracy and adherence to policies and procedures.
- Conducts conflict of interest searches for clients, matters, and lateral hires, using the Firm’s conflicts and intake database.
- Reviews and analyzes conflict of interest reports, adjusting search terms and strategies as needed.
- Compiles and synthesizes information from internal and external sources to gather information and clarify matters.
- Collaborates with the ICS team and Office of General Counsel to resolve conflicts of interest.
- Performs database maintenance, data entry, and special projects as requested.
- Continues to develop skills, improve processes, and stay updated on relevant legal industry trends and changes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an administrative role, preferably in a legal environment.
- Strong research skills and the ability to quickly learn new applications.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of applicable rules regarding conflicts of interest.
- Understanding of the legal industry trends and changes.
