SAIC is seeking a Configuration Management Specialist to join our team supporting the MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (MSEIT) contract for the US Space Force’s Space Systems Center (SSC). This role provides systems engineering and integration for satellite communications systems, delivering secure, survivable, and protected communications for warfighters.
Responsibilities
- Draft, implement, endorse, and promulgate leadership’s direction and vision regarding Configuration Management (CM).
- Ensure system changes are properly identified, documented, controlled, and audited to minimize risks and maximize efficiency.
- Develop and manage Division-level Configuration Management Plans (CMP).
- Support development and conduct CM training, including processes and tools.
- Provide program-level coordination and collaboration to integrate Division-level CMPs.
- Facilitate government-led Engineering Review Boards (ERB) and Configuration Change Control Boards (CCB).
- Develop technical baseline products and change tracking artifacts.
- Organize and document system configurations with input from Program Managers and Lead Engineers.
- Assist the chief engineer with planning and conducting Functional and Physical Configuration Audits (FCA/PCA).
- Maintain the Program Technical baseline in document repositories.
Requirements
- Active Secret clearance required.
- 5 years of relevant experience with Configuration Management (CM), demonstrating high proficiency and familiarity with mature CM practices and procedures.
- Knowledge and experience executing change control processes and facilitating engineering review and configuration control boards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for customer interactions.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of EIA-649-1 and MIL-HDBK-61.
- Knowledge of DoD-5010-12-M and DoD-5015.02-STD.
- Demonstrated capability in defining, documenting, and instantiating configuration management processes for programs and projects, including recommending and implementing military standards and CM best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (desired).
- Top Secret clearance (desired).
- Configuration Manager certification, such as Certified International Configuration Manager (CICM) (desired).
- Familiarity with JIRA/Confluence (desired).
- 4+ years of experience working with military or DoD civilian clients and managing professional relationships (desired).
- 4+ years of experience working in a highly competitive multi-contractor environment (desired).
Pay
Target salary range: $80,001 – $120,000. The estimate represents the typical salary range based on experience and other factors.
Schedule
- Full-time, day shift.
- Travel required: 10% of the time.
- Potential for remote work (ORA_ON_SITE).
