Configuration/Change Manager
This opportunity resides with Warfare Systems (WS), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Warfare Systems comprises cyber and mission IT; electronic warfare; and C5ISR systems. About the Role
HII Mission Technologies is looking for a Configuration/Change Manager to join our team in Springfield, VA. You will manage and improve the organization’s configuration and change management practices to ensure IT services are delivered reliably, consistently, and in compliance with established standards. In this role, you translate business and operational needs into structured change processes, maintain accurate configuration data, and help ensure changes are executed with minimal risk.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate with stakeholders to assess change requests, facilitate Change Advisory Board (CAB) activities, and maintain the accuracy and integrity of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
- Define and refine change and configuration management processes, ensure documentation and baselines remain current, and track the lifecycle of changes from initiation through closure.
- Support audits, maturity assessments, and process improvement efforts.
- Analyze trends, identify risks, validate configuration records, and ensure all changes align with organizational policies, operational requirements, and compliance standards.
- Lead design reviews, configuration audits, and product evaluation to establish/maintain identification, control, and accounting of the baseline for all IT systems/components.
Requirements
- 5+ years configuration and change management experience, including implementing and leading configuration control, to include the management of the various change control boards and panels (e.g., CAB, CRB).
- Experience with Configuration Management Database (CMDB) management and oversight.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience in authoring technical documents (e.g., board charters, plans, reports, training, templates, and design documents).
- TS/SCI clearance required with ability to obtain CI Poly.
- Must meet DoD 8140/CSWF for 641-Intermediate or be willing to obtain the appropriate credential within 6 months.
Qualifications
Configuration Level 2:
- 3 years relevant experience with Bachelor’s in related field; or
- 1 year relevant experience with Master’s in related field; or
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience.
Configuration Level 3:
- 6 years relevant experience with Bachelor’s in related field; or
- 4 years relevant experience with Master’s in related field; or
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with ServiceNow modules including CMDB, HAM, and SAM.
- Knowledge of waterfall and/or Agile (e.g., SAFe, Scrum, Kanban) project management techniques.
- Understanding of DoD, IC, NIST, CNSS, and industry best practices.
Pay
Anticipated salary range: $66,495.00 - $155,364.00.
Configuration Level 2 Salary: $95,000 - $105,000.
Configuration Level 3 Salary: $125,000 - $135,000.
