About the role
The Conference and Event Manager plays a pivotal role in advancing the mission and strategic priorities of the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine. The position designs and delivers high-impact events and builds strong community engagement.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver high-impact events and build strong community engagement
- Lead in planning and executing national and leadership-level events, on and off-site
- Manage the planning and coordination of events that anticipate a wide range of occupants, averaging up to 750 individuals
- Ensure all events showcase the College of Medicine brand, values, and commitment to excellence
- Interact with internal and external programs, clients, faculty, staff, students, and project stakeholders to plan and execute the logistics of conferences and events
- Manage event budgets, contract negotiation and execution, and event marketing and outreach efforts
- Build relationships and create seamless experiences to increase the college’s visibility and community engagement
- Event management, supervising Event Coordinators, volunteer recruitment and training, managing budgets, assessing risk, and evaluating outcomes
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience in developing and administering non-credit educational programs, conferences and events, or marketing, including at least one (1) year of supervisory experience
- Master’s degree in a related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience
- Evening and weekend work and travel may be required
- Demonstrated experience successfully completing multiple team and independent projects on short timelines in a fast-paced environment with utmost professionalism
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite programs: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Valid driver’s license and meet departmental driving standards

$4,508.70 - $6,199.47 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications
