Concrete Superintendent

About the Role

ARCO/Murray Concrete Superintendents will lead Self-Perform Concrete projects including foundations, slab on grade, slab on metal deck, tilt walls, and site concrete. You will manage all administrative tasks associated with construction and field operations from day one, empowered with the tools needed to complete projects on schedule, within budget, and per specifications.

Responsibilities

• Attend the post-award review meeting to receive project information and details for preplanning before construction.
• Participate with the project manager in preparing a schedule of construction activities, organization structure, staff selection, and equipment requirements.
• Direct and control the total construction project to meet specifications, schedule, and profit expectations.
• Ensure strict quality control requirements are exceeded at all times.
• Assist the project manager with duties including material shipments, approvals of shop drawings, and material samples.
• Coordinate subcontractor activities to align with project schedules and progress.
• Inform supervisors and subcontractors promptly of any construction schedule changes.
• Assist in preparing job progress and cost reports to reflect actual costs accurately.
• Review and approve requisitions, field purchase orders, invoices, and other significant reports.
• Cooperate with owners and their representatives, keeping them informed of construction progress.
• Hold job site meetings with the project manager and regional manager.
• Report regularly to the project manager on job progress, plans, and potential cost/schedule issues.
• Maintain a daily log to record significant project facts, events, and communications.
• Direct adherence to the company’s safety program in all project phases and areas.
• Make decisions under tight deadlines and manage multiple activities to achieve desired results.
• Demonstrate leadership skills, address challenges, and effectively manage conflict.
• Commit to quality by evaluating processes, incorporating customer feedback, and meeting expectations.
• Act with integrity, supporting company values and maintaining a focus on customer requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of construction experience, with at least 2 years as a lead superintendent on jobs.
• Experience with Tilt Wall construction.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, time entry, and project scheduling programs.
• Possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in your state of residence.
