Concrete Paver Operator

Job Description

The employee is responsible for operating a paving machine safely and efficiently. The incumbent will need to operate in a safe and efficient manner following all personal protective equipment (PPE) and process requirements. Travel may be required. This role is classified as safety sensitive.

Activities/Tasks/Scope

• Can operate GNZ 850, 600, and 400, as well as Gomaco 850, Commander 3 and RTP, and Gomaco 6300 Curb Machine
• Keep an orderly and safe environment
• Operates machine in an efficient manner, ensuring production quality are met
• Perform maintenance and adjustments on equipment
• Understand grades and elevation
• Conduct daily pre and post inspections
• Knowledge of hydraulics and electrical support

Education/Experience

• A High School Diploma or GED required
• Must be at least 18 years old
• 2-3 years of experience concrete paving

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, bend, walk, climb ladders, reach, grasp, push/pull, twist, and lift heavy objects (50 lbs.)
• Safe negotiation of uneven terrain in various weather conditions
• Ability to handle a large volume of work and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Effective verbal communication, see close and at distances, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
