Job Summary The Concrete Mason performs all duties related to concrete application. Compensation $45.00 - $50.00 per hour. Responsibilities Pours and finishes concretePerforms flatwork constructionConstructs minor concrete structuresInstalls reinforcing rebar or mesh wire to strengthen the concreteSpreads, levels and smooths concrete using a trowel, float or screedMolds expansion joints and edgesMonitors curing to ensure durable, smooth and uniform finishApplies sealants or waterproofing to protect concrete Education High school diploma/GED Requirements/Qualifications Class C driver’s license with clean driving recordAble to work both independently and as part of a teamAble to work in a safety-conscious mannerExperience working in a heavy civil construction environment Physical requirements: bending, kneeling, lifting and carrying, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions Preferred Class A commercial driver’s licenseExperience in traffic controlAbility to establish finish grades from survey dataAbility to complete Class 1 finish to structural concrete Conditions of Employment Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) registration/clearance as well as ongoing alcohol and drug testing. In accordance with the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, for work that will be performed in the San Francisco area, qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records will be considered for employment.
