Cement Mason
About the role
We're seeking a skilled and experienced Cement Mason to join our team! This role plays a key part in shaping high-quality concrete work on a range of projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate brings craftsmanship, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Job Duties
- Form for concrete and place rebar once layout is given
- Assist with materials takeoffs
- Assist with layout, setting stringline, setting anchor bolts, etc.
- Sooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete using hand and power tools
- Read and have the understanding of blueprints, drawings, or oral instructions to plan work
- Repair chipped, cracked, or damaged concrete structures
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with the crew and take direction from supervisors, foremen, and members of other trades
- Ensure work is performed safely and in compliance with building codes and project specifications
- Follow all safety procedures and project protocols to maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site
Requirements
- 1+ year of experience in concrete finishing (commercial preferred but not required)
- Proficient with cement mason tools and general construction techniques
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and organization
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and solution-oriented
- Comfortable working in team settings or independently
- Must have your own tools, valid driver's license, and reliable transportation
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification (preferred but not required)
Qualifications & Strengths
- Physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- The employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock

Pay
We pay prevailing wage on applicable public works jobs - Public works follow California prevailing wage (DIR), federal work jobs follow Davis-Bacon, and private work is competitively compensated.
