Concrete HSE Manager (Bilingual)
Job Summary
A Project HSE Manager is an integral member of a project team and they are highly dedicated to the health and well-being of others. In addition to serving as a safety resource for their teammates, their main function is to facilitate Sundt HS&E programs. This position includes three 'steps' (I, II and Sr.), which provide for a progression of skill and experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducts frequent safety walks/inspections of the project and adjacent property.
- Serves as a safety resource for their teammates.
- Creates, updates, maintains, and facilitates the Project Environmental Management Plan.
- Creates, updates, maintains, and facilitates the Project Safety Management Plan.
- Facilitates the Sundt Safety Management and Illness Prevention Systems Manual on the project.
- Manages emergencies, incidents, and worker's compensation claims.
- Reviews and files project safety documentation.
Core Experience
- Significant experience managing safety on large commercial or industrial construction projects.
- Strong background in: Cast-in-place concrete, Vertical concrete (walls, cores, columns), Formwork systems (a plus).
- Familiar with self-perform concrete operations is a major advantage.
- Identifies hazards before work begins. Proactive rather than reactive.
- Willing to build relationships with foremen and superintendents. Credibility through field knowledge.
- Coaches instead of lectures. Helps crews solve problems.
- Comfortable leading toolbox talks in both languages. Able to communicate technical hazards clearly to craft workers.
- Familiar with computers (technology).
Minimum Job Requirements
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Certifications and licenses: Preferred, but not required- STSC, CHST, ASP, CSP.
- Education: high school diploma minimum, bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience: At least one year of full-time project safety experience.
- Good written and verbal communication (proper grammar, spelling, etc.).
- High level of integrity for reporting incidents and events, as well as upholding company policy, personal activities, etc.
- Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.
Special skills
- Able to use various computer software and apps proficiently, bi-lingual preferred.
