The Concrete General Foreman (GF) is responsible for ensuring work is completed in alignment with project design, budget, and schedule requirements. This role requires the supervision of multiple crews and carpenters, fostering a productive and respectful work environment.
Required Experience & Background
- 10+ years of experience in self-perform concrete construction.
- Minimum of 2 years serving as a General Foreman or in a similar leadership role.
- Strong working knowledge of commercial construction practices and standards.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in reading and interpreting contract documents, formwork shop drawings, and construction schedules.
- Knowledgeable in multiple forming systems and components.
- Able to plan and coordinate all aspects of concrete placement, including ordering concrete, pumps, and inspections.
- Familiar with concrete mix designs, slump specifications, and additives.
- Competent in layout techniques and able to support or guide layout crews.
- Technology & Tools:
- Comfortable using technology on the job site, including navigation of Autodesk tools.
- Able to apply stringent quality control procedures using digital tools as needed.
- Leadership & Work Ethic:
- Strong safety-first mindset with proven ability to lead crews in a safe and efficient manner.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to foster a collaborative team environment.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude and proactive approach to problem-solving.
Typical Okland Self-Perform Tasks
- Form, pour, and strip walls, columns, and footings.
- Form, pour, and strip site work, slab-on-grade, and suspended slabs.
- Install and manage tilt-up panels.
- Perform rough carpentry tasks as needed.
- Execute layout work in coordination with site plans and teams.
- Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
