About the role
Schutte Excavating is a company based in Greensburg, IN. We are expanding our workforce and currently seeking a Concrete Foreman. This position involves reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings to determine materials and measurements needed for projects. It requires a solid understanding of the concrete prep, forming, pouring, and finishing process.
Responsibilities
- Review plans and layout concrete scope for project
- Plan, organize, prepare work areas for concrete
- Manage crews of 3-6 employees
- Comprehend and complete tasks efficiently
- Perform rough carpentry tasks such as cutting and shaping wood
- Lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work in various weather conditions
- Manual physical labor for 8+ hours a day, including hand digging, raking gravel, setting forms, setting rebar/concrete stakes, pushing/pulling concrete, and finishing concrete with hand tools
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Adapt to changing weather conditions and be safety-conscious
Requirements
- 3+ years of strong concrete experience forming and finishing concrete, sidewalks, curbs, and structures
- Valid driver's license
- Dependability
Qualifications
- Class A CDL (preferred but not required)
- Physical ability to perform manual labor
- Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods
- Knowledge of concrete construction processes
Skills
- Strong knowledge of concrete construction processes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
- Good organizational and planning skills
- Manual dexterity and physical strength

Pay
The concrete foreman hourly rate depends on experience and references.
Schedule
Typical schedule is Monday - Friday; 7:30 - 4:00 (start and end times may need to vary at times).
