Concrete Estimator
About the role
Christman Building Innovation Group (CBIG) is a leading construction firm with projects across the Midwest, southeast, mid-Atlantic, and south. We're seeking a Concrete Estimator to join our dynamic team.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates conceptual estimating proficiency in scope review, subcontractor knowledge, on-screen takeoff, and estimating software platforms.
- Surveys, quantifies materials, and produces assemblies from drawings.
- Prepares proposal letters, qualification, and clarification sheets.
- Reads and interprets technical documents like Geotechnical Reports and Due Care Plans.
- Manages supplier and subcontractor bid invitations for respective estimates.
- Contacts and follows up with subcontractors and suppliers for pricing input.
- Demonstrates knowledge of client relations and estimate presentations.
- Possesses great knowledge with regard to technical specifications and pricing levels.
- Reviews contract scopes and associated dollar figures.
- Aids in subcontractor recommendations and buyouts.
- Maintains deadlines and prioritizes multiple assignments.
- Collaborates with the bid team to prepare accurate bid proposals.
- Provides technical assistance to Project Managers in negotiating contracts, change orders, etc.
- Ensures timely and complete bid submission and management of all required bid submission requirements.
- Organizes and performs quantity take-offs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Three (3) years of work experience in construction or related fields.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience with Planswift and WinEst estimating software.
- Basic understanding of accounting and project management concepts.
- Deep understanding of research methodology, data analysis, and estimation metrics.
