About the Role

Provides direct customer service to all guests, visitors, students, faculty, staff, and vendors within the School of Nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Welcomes and acknowledges all guests, visitors, students, and vendors according to College standards; anticipates and addresses service needs.
  • Responds to inquiries on behalf of the School of Nursing using customer-focused interpersonal skills and assists as required.
  • Checks email and voicemail boxes and responds appropriately.
  • Handles all inbound and outbound phone calls in a pleasant, customer-service oriented manner.
  • Ensures the Concierge desk and lobby area appear neat and professional, fully stocked with information including College maps, brochures, and event literature.
  • Provides administrative support to supervisor.
  • Attends all College meetings as assigned.
  • Serves as the main administrative support to nursing pinning ceremonies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a customer service-oriented role.
  • Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team.
  • Demonstrated experience requiring diverse problem-solving methods in a variety of situations.

Skills

  • Basic knowledge of customer service concepts, practices, and procedures with the ability to use in varied situations.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to small or large groups.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to foster a team environment and work collaboratively.
  • Ability to research and analyze issues and develop solutions.
  • Ability to work accurately with great attention to detail.
  • Basic proficiency with Ad Astra or equivalent room scheduling program.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to confidentially and discreetly handle subject matters requiring privacy and sensitivity.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance workflow and quality.
  • Sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of students and the community.

Physical Demands / Working Conditions

  • The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment; adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
  • Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform duties, including repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard.
  • May require some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, and books.
  • Work may require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.

Pay

Target starting salary range: $40,814 to $45,000. The final offer will be based on internal equity, available budget, and candidate qualifications.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM.
