Position Summary
Lake City Healthcare and Rehabilitation is seeking a friendly, compassionate, and service-oriented Concierge to join our team. As the first point of contact for Residents, families, and visitors, you will play a key role in creating a warm, welcoming, and positive experience throughout each Resident's stay. This position works closely with Admissions, Nursing, and other departments to ensure smooth transitions and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the Admissions Department to coordinate new Resident admissions and communicate equipment needs to nursing staff.
- Prepare Resident rooms before admission by ensuring:
- Previous belongings have been removed.
- Terminal cleaning has been completed.
- Beds are made and room equipment, including call bells, lights, and televisions, is functioning properly.
- Assemble and deliver welcome baskets for newly admitted Residents.
- Greet Residents and families upon arrival and escort Residents to their rooms.
- Build positive relationships with Residents and families by providing ongoing support and assistance.
- Respond promptly to call bells and communicate Resident needs to nursing staff when appropriate.
- Address Resident concerns and assist with the facility's grievance process.
- Assist with room transfers, including transitions from short-term rehabilitation to long-term care.
- Complete Concierge follow-up documentation within 48 hours of admission and prior to discharge.
- Provide facility tours during evenings or when Admissions staff are unavailable.
- Prepare and email daily reports to leadership highlighting Resident feedback, concerns, and trends.
- Cook up and distribute discharge gift bags for Residents returning home.
- Monitor and coordinate Resident smoking schedules in accordance with facility policies.
- Attend required staff meetings, in-service education, and Resident Council meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Administrator.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Customer service experience is required.
- Previous nursing home, rehabilitation, hospitality, or healthcare experience is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Compassionate, professional, and dependable are key traits.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment are necessary.
- Basic computer and email proficiency is required.
