About the role
The Concessions Supervisor oversees the food & beverage service at various concessions stands, bars, and portable locations within the arena. This role requires a personable demeanor and adaptability to a fast-paced environment. The supervisor assists the Concessions Manager and the broader OVG leadership team with various tasks including training, inventory management, and special events.
Responsibilities
- Ensure proper setup of all concession locations before event start.
- Set-up duties may include verifying opening inventory, assigning duties, ensuring sanitation standards, verifying operational readiness, assessing food production levels, and ensuring SL or NFP Stand Leaders follow proper procedures for cash handling.
- Provide oversight and operational expertise to ensure smooth, efficient, and profitable event execution.
- Train new and current employees on property procedures and best practices.
- Assist with covering open positions to ensure full operational coverage and meet company standards for speed of service and guest satisfaction.
- Ensure a safe and harassment-free work environment, addressing safety concerns and enforcing company policies.
- Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
- Show excellent attendance and be available to work events as needed.
- Recognize visibly intoxicated guests and take appropriate action.
- Enforce company policies and procedures.
- Practice excellent human resources skills, including employee relations, coaching, and counseling.
- Assist with management projects including training, inventory, and special events.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years’ experience in supervisory roles in food & beverage environments.
- Ability to supervise and communicate effectively with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management, and guests.
- Team-oriented and adaptable to a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
- Possession of a valid food handling certificate or alcohol service permit, if required by state or federal regulations.
- Ability to handle cash accurately and perform basic math functions related to POS transactions.
