Concessions Server

Part-time, non-benefitted, hourly, non-exempt position located on the Chico State campus at Laxson Auditorium. Candidate must be a California resident; Chico State Enterprises is not a sponsoring agency for staff and management positions (e.g., H-1B visas). Satisfactory completion of a background check is required.

About the Role

As a Concessions Server, you will provide friendly, efficient service to customers during events at Laxson Auditorium. The role involves operating point-of-sale systems, maintaining cleanliness, and collaborating with team members to ensure smooth event operations.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a friendly, welcoming, and professional manner.
• Take food and beverage orders efficiently and accurately.
• Operate Clover point-of-sale (POS) systems and process cash and credit card transactions.
• Serve food and beverages in accordance with food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the concession stand and storage areas.
• Restock food and beverages as needed to minimize inventory shortages.
• Comply with all applicable health, safety, and alcohol service regulations.
• Work collaboratively with venue staff to ensure smooth and efficient event operations.
• Address customer questions, concerns, and issues promptly and professionally.
• Follow sustainability practices, including recycling and composting, when available.

Requirements

• Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or customer service is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Strong basic math skills for accurate transaction processing and providing correct change.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to safely walk up and down stairs.

Pay

$16.90 - $19.00 per hour
