CONCESSIONS CASHIER - Churchill Downs

Levy at Churchill Downs is hiring seasonal, part-time Concessions Cashiers for our Spring, Summer, and Fall Racing Meets. Churchill Downs is home of the Kentucky Derby, described by Forbes as one of the "Greatest Bucket-list Sporting Events" in America. • September Racing Meet: September 10th–27th (includes Twilight Thursday Racing and Downs After Dark)
• Fall Racing Meet: October 25th–November 29th (includes Thanksgiving and Black Friday)
• Spring Racing Meet: April 24th–June 27th (includes the Kentucky Oaks, the Kentucky Derby, and Downs After Dark)

Responsibilities

• Performs cashiering duties, including making cash transactions, verifying cash drawer, giving change, counting cash receipts, and completing cash reports.
• Performs sales transactions in a timely fashion and accurately records purchases in the cash register.
• Makes change, accepts declining balance cards and other forms of payment, and issues receipts to customers.
• Follows standard procedures for issuing cash refunds.
• Interacts with customers and resolves complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Manages assigned change funds and cash receipts, ensuring compliance with overage/shortage standards.
• Observes customer purchases and differentiates between standard portions.
• Replenishes condiments, coffee, other beverages, and general supplies while maintaining cleanliness of service areas.
• Keeps pastry case stocked.
• Ensures compliance with company service standards, inventory, and cash control procedures.
• Ensures compliance with all sanitation, ServSafe, and safety requirements.
• May also perform general food service work and other duties as assigned.
