About the role

As our Concessions Attendant, you will serve as the central resource for our quick-service food operations. This seasonal position (now through October 15) offers the unique opportunity to take on multiple roles within Food & Beverage, playing an integral part in our program’s success.

Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly, quality, genuine hospitality to each guest
  • Greet guests, take orders, prepare, and serve offerings in accordance with established standards
  • Demonstrate knowledge of menu and offerings, including dietary and allergen guidelines
  • Operate cash register, receive payment (cash or credit), and provide accurate change when applicable
  • Prepare food and beverage throughout the day by anticipating and reacting to guest volume
  • Work neatly and safely under Health Department sanitary guidelines and regulations
  • Follow recipes accurately while maintaining food and beverage preparation processes
  • Complete food and beverage preparation assignments accurately, neatly, and in a timely fashion
  • Perform shift opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned
  • Stock and replenish food, beverage, paper products, and utensils as needed
  • Clean, sanitize, and maintain amenities per sanitation guidelines
  • Follow sanitation standards, including washing cookware and utensils throughout the day
  • Set up and break down events and resort functions

Requirements

  • Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use email and the internet
  • Flexibility to work events during non-business hours
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • 6 months of previous food and beverage experience is preferred

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
  • Must lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds

Schedule

Hours are variable and based on guest occupancy, season, staffing, and other factors. Island Hospitality cannot guarantee a specific number of work hours per week.
